Madonna’s Childhood Home Listed For Sale

Queen of Pop’s Rochester Hills Home Set At Low Asking Price

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. — Before she became a household name, Madonna was just a young girl living in suburban Rochester Hills, Michigan.

The house where she grew up — located at 2036 Oklahoma Avenue — has been put back on the real estate market for an asking price of just $48,600.

The 2,639 square-foot house, built in 1970, was where Madonna called home, along with her seven siblings, before she left for the big-time in 1977.

The only downside? The home was the center of a suspicious fire in 2008, and has not been renovated since. Remains of a charred interior complete with water damage have turned the Queen of Pop’s childhood castle into a dark dungeon in need of some serious fixing-up.

Madonna’s father and stepmother first sold the home in 2001 for $270,000, and four months later, it found a new buying price on eBay of $331,000. However, in 2004 and 2005, it was resold yet again to owners who failed to show up in court, after neighbors complained of the home’s shape after the fire.

The median price of a home in Rochester Hills is $173,400, so for most people, that’s the cheapest they’ll ever pay to owning something of Madonna’s.
