A Boston “Neighborhood Restaurant and Bar” closely resembling the South End’s Columbus Café and Bar was listed for sale last week by Atlantic Restaurant Group, a commercial real estate firm specializing in selling and leasing restaurants in the Boston area.
The listing, which was featured on the site Friday, did not mention the restaurant by name but included a photograph of a bar that closely resembles Columbus Café. The restaurant up for sale is described as a “neighborhood café and bar” occupying a corner retail unit with a patio.
The asking price is listed at $425,000.
According to the listing, the 1,490 square-foot restaurant rents its space for $6,700 per month. It pulls in $700,000 annually and has a liquor license from the city of Boston.
“Very popular amongst the neighborhood’s residents, the restaurant has received great review for its comfort food offered at affordable prices,” the listing states.
The current owner of Columbus Café could not be reached for comment. Calls placed to the restaurant were not answered.
