The Royal Oak pub in Devizes has closed and is for sale.
The Fullers owned pub, in New Park Street, has had a succession of tenants over recent years.
The last tenants were local couple Paul and Victoria Rigby, who had been there since last May on a temporary basis.
The pub, which is Grade II listed and in the Devizes conservation area, has been for sale for some time and is being marketed by London based property consultants, AGG.
Last June the pub had a price tag of £325,000 but it has now been reduced to £250,000 and AGG say it would be suitable for alternative use, subject to planning permission.
Don Jones, chairman of Devizes CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), said: “It doesn’t look good for the Royal Oak.
“It’s not often lived up to its potential over the past few years and various landlords have struggled to make a decent living.
“It is a real shame because Fullers brew good beer.
“We would like to see someone make a go of it but times are tough for pubs.
“It would be a shame to lose an old and established pub like the Royal Oak but we do appreciate the economic climate.”
