WILSON, N.C. – No charges will be filed in the death of a man at the center of a Silver Alert.
Police say Michael Hunt Jr. darted into the road after consuming PCP and THC, the impairing chemical found in marijuana prior to the accident that took his life.
Hunt was hit by a 2008 Honda Civic driven operated by Justin Jones. Officers say there is no indication of impairment, improper speed or driver error on Jones’ behalf.
No charges will be filed and the investigation into the incident is closed.

That’s according to Wilson Police.
Michael Hunt Jr. was struck by a motor vehicle Wednesday evening while he was still under a Silver Alert.

WILSON, N.C. – Police have identified the driver of a vehicle that struck a man at the center of a Sivler Alert Wednesday night.
28-year-old Justin Scott Jones was driving the 2008 Honda Civic that struck Michael Hunt Jr. He’s currently in critical condition at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The incident is still under investigation and authorities underscore that no charges have been filed at this time.

WILSON, N.C. – The man at the center of an afternoon Silver Alert was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night.
That’s according to Wilson Police.
Officers tell Nine On Your Side they were dispatched to NC Hwy 42 West near the intersection of Trace Drive, where they found Michael James Hunt, Jr. He had been struck by a Honda Civic.
Hunt sustained serious injuries in the incident and was airlifted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, were he is receiving treatment.
The accident is currently being investigated by authorities.

WILSON, N.C. – A Silver Alert has been canceled for a missing endangered man.
The N.C. Center for Missing Persons canceled the alert at the request of the Wilson Police Department.
Earlier Wednesday, 23-year-old Michael James Hunt Jr. was believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
He was described in a news release as a black male, 5’8″, approximately 150 lbs. with brown eyes, and black shoulder length braided hair. Hunt had last been scene on Tarboro Street wearing blue hospital scrubs and red socks and headed west on Wooten Blvd.
No word on where police located Hunt.
