A COMPANY has been asked to remove advertising that was spoiling the views of a listed building.

Telfords in the High Road in Woodford Green was asked by Planning Enforcement Officers to remove sales boards outside the Grade II listed Elmhurst building.

The branch is in the Conservation Area on the High Road by the A406 bridge.

Telfords will also have to submit a planning application to keep two other signs on either side of the entrance to Queen Mary Gate site in South Woodford.

Hardly worth worrying about a few signs when the planners have allowed a development to the rear of Elmhurst that resembles modern prison structures; a purpose-built slum.
