Weekend guide to antiques and collectibles in the Bay Area (3/11-3/13)

It’s always a good idea to check ahead to make sure the event information is current.

Would you like to have your flea market, estate sale, rummage sale or other antiques and collectibles related event listed here, or your business listed in the blog roll on your right? It’s a chance to reach a large number of people for free. I’d be happy to include it. Just send me an e-mail with all the info. Thanks, Bob

ALAMEDA POINT FLEA MARKET

Sunday, March 13, 2011

The flea market was postponed from last week due to the rain. Since there may be rain in the forecast for this week, too, you should check their website for any updates.

Click on the link to the site for times, admission, location, etc.

Alternate ways to get to the Alameda Point Flea Market

For those who don’t drive or don’t have a car, there are alternative ways to get to the flea market. I did some digging (and calling) and found that there is ferry service that goes to within walking distance of the flea market’s parking lot. Once you arrive at the Alameda ferry terminal head west for about 1/4 mile. You can then wait for the free parking lot shuttle service to take you to the entrance, or walk through the lot which is huge (3/4 of a mile to the gate).

Here is a link to the ferry’s website. Check for the site for times and fares.

If you decide to go by BART, go to the downtown Oakland Station, and catch an AC Transit number 63 bus. Here’s a link for AC Transit information.
