OAKLAND, Calif. — Orlando Magic reserve shooting guard J.J. Redick was sidelined against the Golden State Warriors after straining a muscle in his lower abdomen during the morning shootaround.
Magic coach Stan Van Gundy says Redick is officially day to day. Redick also was examined by the team physician before Friday night’s game.
Redick was hopeful to return for Orlando’s next game at Phoenix on Sunday. Van Gundy says Quentin Richardson and Gilbert Arenas will play more minutes in place of Redick.
Redick is averaging a career-high 10.1 points this season.
