Benefit Breakfast for Casey Pollmeier of Iowa, granddaughter of Richard and Bernice Larsen of Minot: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., First Lutheran Church Parish Center. Quiche and muffins will be served. A freewill offering will be taken to help defray expenses of her surgery for thyroid cancer and treatments. Checks should be made to: Thrivent Ward County Chapter, with Casey Pollmeier in the memo portion. Thrivent Financial For Lutherans will supplement funds.
The fourth annual Ramblers Magic City Bike Show: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Grand International Inn. There will be a trophy presentation at 3 p.m. Admission is $5 per person except for children ages 12 and younger, who will be admitted for free.
Concert in Foxholm: Burlington Community Choir will present “One Holy Celebration,” an Easter musical: 10:45 a.m., St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Foxholm.
Soup kitchen: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Seventh-day Adventist Church, 10-17th Ave. SW.
The Congegrational United Church of Christ in Minot will host a series of lectures on different faith practices: The first one will be Sunday immediately following the 11 a.m. service (about 12:15 p.m.) Speakers from different faiths will provide information about their faith and answer questions. The lectures are open to the public. Coffee will be served but people are encouraged to bring their own bag lunch. Jasper Young Bird of Bismarck will speak about “Native American Spirituality” at the March 13 lecture. The time and date for the other lectures has not been set yet.
Nondenominational Bible Talk: 4 p.m., Minot Municipal Auditorium, Room 204. The talk is free and open to the public.
Energy Impact Symposium, “Growing with Energy: Economic and Infrastructure Impacts”: 7 p.m., Minot State University’s Ann Nicole Nelson Hall, Old Main. Keynote speaker will be James T. Brown, president and chief operating officer of Whiting Petroleum Corp. Both Brown’s presentation and a reception to follow are free and open to the public.
