Hotel up for sale following administration

A hotel in Wisbech town centre has been put onto the market following its administration.

The Rose and Crown Hotel – a Keyhole Heritage Hotel – has been listed for sale by agents Colliers for £500,000.

Formerly owned and managed by Jonathan Davies, the property, described as a ‘landmark hotel’ in the sales brochure, is Grade II listed and comprises 29 en-suite bedrooms, restaurant, bar and private car park.

The hotel also boasts two function rooms – one holding 40 people and the other – which has been used for numerous weddings and parties in the past – holding 180. The separate Tidnams bar has remained trading as normal despite the administration of the hotel and is being operated under a management contract.

The sales brochure adds, “There is no doubt that there are significant opportunities within the area to win commercial and leisure business if the hotel is correctly positioned within the market.”

Another hotel in the local area is also on the market, for offers around the £450,000 mark. The 13-bedroom White Lion Hotel, located on Wisbech’s South Brink, is also being marketed through Colliers.

The White Lion overlooks the River Nene and comprises a meeting room, bar, restaurant and function room capable of holding 120 people.
