Band Fundraiser

Meeting On Bullying

March 3 Bullies are a pain in the brain.  The Annapolis County Family Resource Centre and RCMP Youth Program are partnering to provide information on bullying.  Find out how to handle bullying in schools, on the Internet, and between siblings.  Meet Cyber Cop from Truro.  The workshop is March 3 at the NSCC Lawrencetown from 6 to 8 p.m.  There is no charge for participants and child-care will be provided.  For more information, please call 1-800-399-7119.

New Library Opening

March 3 Annapolis Valley Regional Library and Bridgetown and Area Friends of the Library Society annnounce the opening of the new library facility at 38 Queen Street (former Revere Building) at 10 a.m. Membership is free; check for new hours; official opening to follow in late spring.

World Day of Prayer

March 4 A World Day of Prayer service will be held at the Middleton Baptist Church at 2 p.m. (Storm date of March 6 at 2 p.m.)

Talent Auction

March 4 St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown, is holding a Goods and Talent Auction at the Bridgetown Fire Hall, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission ($5) includes one glass of wine, dessert, tea or coffee. Items include hand made pieces, gourmet meals, golf passes, load of gravel and much more. Tickets available at the door or from Mary at 665-2829 or Darrell at 665-2019. Storm date of March 5.

Day of Prayer

March 4 Please join us and invite your friends and family to attend the World Day of Prayer service at St. Louis Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal, at 2 p.m. followed by refreshments and social time.  Learn more about the women, culture and heritage of Chile.

Talent Auction

March 5 A Talent Auction, Bake Sale and Bonnie’s Bistro at Middleton Baptist Church on March 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Lunch of  soup, sandwiches, dessert, and coffee or tea being served from 11:30 a.m. to 1: p.m.  Price: $7.

Self Defense for Women

March 5 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rebekah Building in Bear River with Nathan Waterman, 467-3672. Cost $25 per person.

New Singing Circle

March 6 Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Digby United Church hall. No experience necessary, just a willing voice (does not have to be a “good” voice). This is a family friendly gathering, children are welcome. People may bring instruments, shakers etc., a cushion for sitting on and any songs they’d like to share. For info, call Emily Allen. Neighbourhood Watch

March 7 The Wilmot and Area Neighbourhood Watch Association will meet on Monday, March 7 at 7 p.m. in the Wilmot Christian Fellowship Centre. Special guest will be Daniel Cress, bylay enforcement / animal control officer for the County of Annapolis. Come with questions and concerns. Refreshments will be served.

Dance Sessions

March 7 Offered by Paradise Active Healthy Living Society with Peter Fyfe instructing. Dance sessions once again in the Paradise Community Hall on Monday nights at 7:30 p.m., beginning on March 7, with the last class on April 11. You can waltz and you can jive! People First Fundraiser

April 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. we will be having a Chinese Auction and Bake Sale at the Middleton Baptist Church in the Gymnasium (please use School St entrance). Auction drawing at 5 p.m.  People First is a self-advocacy group for persons with intellectual disabilities.

May 12 The Annapolis Royal District Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society will hold its annual general meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal bldg, Annapolis Royal. The public and new members are invited to attend.

Choral Festival
