The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has finally hit Verizon Wireless’ internal inventory system, further concreting the fact that Big Red will be picking up the Android gaming phone.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play bound for Verizon
Engadget reports that one of their sources sent them the screenshot which showcased the Sony R800X, the model number for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play (the ‘x’ means CDMA).
Unfortunately there aren’t any other details of the Android device such as a release date, price or official specs. However from the speculations that have been floating around the web from weeks now, we can expect a dual-core Snapdragon processor, 5-megapixel camera and compatibility with PS1 games.
DUM Verizon BlackBerry phones
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play was listed in the inventory alongside a couple of DUM BlackBerry phones (RIM 8330 CURVE, RIM 8130, etc). Now before you think Verizon is bias in the way they refer to their BlackBerry lineup, DUM stands for Dummy Unit Mockup.
Have a great weekend folks!
