ALL Athletes and officials from the 36 states of the federation and clubs going to Shagamu for this weekend’s Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) first All Comers and 10km Road Race have been advised to be prepared to fund their stay during the two-day competition.

The  tourney starts on Friday, February 18 at the Shagamu Stadium.

According to the letter sent last week to all the intending states and clubs, the AFN is insisting that it was not in a position to cater for athletes and officials coming to the event.

AFN Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Rita Akande, who signed the letter specifically warned the athletes and officials not to come down expecting the AFN to shoulder their  responsibilities.

“ There is no meal subsidy for any athlete. No transport allowance or accommodation. Also, no one should come to Shagamu hoping to win any prize money. This is an all Comers event,”Akande said.
