The Yerington Animal Protection Society will hold the first-ever Great Yerington Yard Sale on Saturday, September 10, in conjunction with the 2011 Arts and Blues at the Center/A Taste of the Valley at the Jeanne Dini Cultural Center.
The Great Yerington Yard Sale is a coordinated effort to have yard sales all over the area on the same day. YAPS will be maintaining the website and advertising the event, and will manage a central yard sale location with booths for vendors. However, it is expected that most of the yard/garage sales will be held at homes throughout the area.
All registered vendors and vendors renting booth space will be listed on the YAPS Great Yerington Yard Sale website, along with hours their sale(s) will be open, a list of sale items and notations requested by the vendors.
Vendors will also be included on the map provided to shoppers on-line and via a paper copy the day of the event.
There will be small fees for registration and booth rental, and proceeds will benefit YAPS’ spay/neuter programs. YAPS is a 501.c.3 with a primary focus on eliminating the problem of unwanted dogs and cats through spay/neuter. For more information, call Diane Davis at 463-3699.
The Annual Arts and Blues at the Center/A Taste of the Valley is being held the same day from 3:00-10:00 p.m. at the Jeanne Dini Cultural Center at 120 North California Street in Yerington. A free outdoor concert will be provided by The Colin Ross Band from Reno, and by Aesthetic Cling from Sutter Creek, California.
A Taste of the Valley vendors will offer local foods, drink and unique regional arts for purchase throughout the day and into the evening. For information on this event, call the Yerington Theatre for the Arts/Debbie Arrighi at 463-1783.
