Feds won’t ID two listed in charges

UPLAND – The U.S. Attorney’s Office will not release for now the names of two individuals listed in the charges filed against two men associated with the FBI’s Upland-based investigation.

Jason Roy Crebs and Anthony Orlando Sanchez were charged Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Riverside for “knowingly and intentionally” aiding and abetting an Upland “public official” of “corruptly” soliciting a thing of value from “R.M.”

The identity of the public official and “R.M.” were not released because they are not charged, said Jerry Behnke, assistant U.S. attorney and deputy chief of the office in Riverside.

“That information could potentially come out as the case unfolds,” Behnke said.

But Upland Councilman Ray Musser said he is not the “R.M.” referred to in the document.

“The charge against Crebs and Sanchez is aiding and abetting the public official in committing a bribe,” Behnke said.

“R.M. is the person from whom the money was taken.”

Behnke could not say if any more charges are expected to be filed.

On June 10, FBI and IRS agents confiscated records from Upland City Hall and Mayor John Pomierski’s home, where his construction business is based. They also took records from J.H. Builders in Upland and Venture West Capital in Rancho Cucamonga.

A search warrant for Pomierski’s cell phone sought records as evidence of alleged violations including racketeering, conspiracy, extortion, bribery, mail and

wire fraud, and money laundering.

Crebs and Sanchez were both named in the search warrant and both work for Venture West Capital.
