BRAIDWOOD, Ill — Reed Custer High School’s senior class offers a Prom Dress and Formal Wear Consignment Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 in the high school’s auditorium foyer.
All area community members are invited to attend.
The Class of 2012 is sponsoring the event to raise money to help with the cost of putting on prom. In addition, the sale offers students with dresses from previous years to be sold for a profit and for buyers to get a great deal on gently used dresses.
If anyone has a formal wear gown or special occasion dress they would like to sell, bring the dress and accessories to Reed Custer High School from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. Come to the main entrance to the school and then to room 600.
Each dress should be wrapped in a garment or dry cleaning bag to keep from being damaged. There is a $5 handling fee.
If the dress is sold, the Class of 2012 will keep a 20-percent commission from the sale and the remaining 80 percent will go to the seller.
If the dress does not sell, it needs to be picked up from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15. If they are not picked up, they will be donated to charity. If the dress does sell, you will need to pick up the money at the listed times or the check will be mailed to you.
The sale is a good opportunity for people to find special occasion dresses for weddings, graduations and other special functions.
