BRIDGEPOINT tenants can breathe a sigh of relief that the Spit Junction shopping centre is no longer up for sale.
But there’s still uncertainty over how long the property will remain off the market.
Centre owner, Singapore-based Centrepoint Properties Limited (CPL), listed the site for sale for the first time in 17 years in October 2009.
It was expected to sell for about $40 million but was taken off the market by mid-2010 after no deals were made.
“No sale was concluded as no sale agreement was reached,” Australian head of retail investments at Jones Lang LaSalle, Simon Rooney said.
“A number of bids were received but they weren’t bids the owner was happy with.”
Jones Lang LaSalle, a financial and professional services firm specialising in real estate in the Asia Pacific region, co-ordinated the sale on behalf of CPL.
Mr Rooney refused to say how many expressions of interest were lodged or reveal the bid amounts.
Bridgepoint has 34 tenants including Bakers Delight, The Mosman Storehouse, Michel’s Patisserie and Bendigo Bank.
The 6752sq m twin-storey centre takes up the entire northeastern block of Brady St and Military Rd, but does not include the bridge over Military Rd.
