According to Somchai Sajjapongse, director-general of the State Enterprise Policy Office, the ministry plans to sell some shares in THAI, PTT Plc, MCOT Plc, Krung Thai Bank and Airports of Thailand.
THAI share price as of 11.44am rose Bt0.75 or 1.84 per cent to Bt41.50.
At the same time, PTT, MCOT, KTB and AOT share prices are unchanged from the previous closing at Bt337, Bt30, Bt17.10, and Bt34, respectively.
The ministry said its holdings in the companies are beyond the statutory requirement. Thailand is running a budget deficit of Bt420 billion this fiscal year and Bt350 billion next year.
