What is it?
Originally constructed in 1806 as the principal of six gate lodges to one of the largest estates in England, Bath Lodge Castle is a Grade II Listed fortress featuring towers, battlements and a portcullis (a latticed grille or gated entrance). Bath Lodge was previously a bed and breakfast before it launched to the events market.
What’s it got?
Bath Lodge Castle was refurbished in December 2010 and the restoration included new catering facilities, the creation of a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor to cater for disabled guests, as well as complete top-to-bottom refurbishment, including all furniture and furnishings. In the grounds, investment was made to the gardens including the creation of a woodland walk on the former hunting grounds.
Although the venue retains its historical features it has modern features with state of the art audio visual equipment including Nintendo Wii’s, and wifi.
It features two dining areas, the first can seat 35 theatre style and the second can cater for 14 theatre style. There is a lounge area that accommodates 16 theatre style, and for outdoor events a marquee can be erected on the grounds and has a capacity for 150 guests seated.
Bath Lodge Castle can accommodate 16 guests in eight en-suite bedrooms, three of which also include roof terraces.
