In the most forgotten game of the NBA season, Danny Granger sprained his ankle in a losing effort against the Nuggets on Sunday night.
Yes, while you were celebrating a Steelers victory or posting harsh criticism about Jay Cutler on your Bears blog, the Pacers and Nuggets were locked in the only NBA game of the evening. Granger, who played just 25 minutes, left the game early with an ankle sprain and is now listed as questionable for Wednesday night’s game. The good news is, the Pacers don’t play again until Wednesday night.
The injury didn’t seem serious, but there are plenty of reasons why we could speculate Granger taking his time in returning. Meanwhile, Tyler Hansbrough took advantage of the extra touches, posting 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting and 10 rebounds. I’ve been lobbying for Hansbrough in my writings and think you should add him regardless of Granger’s health, but it’s also worth giving Paul George (17 points on 7-of-10 shooting) a look if Granger sits.
Hey, maybe we’ll see Brandon Rush back in the mix. Though with Jim O’Brien calling the shots, it’s not so likely.
The other injury that fantasy owners are talking about on Monday is the wrist injury Eric Gordon suffered this weekend. The good news is that Gordon’s MRI reveled a minor sprain to his wrist. He is expected to play on Tuesday, though things could change between now and then. Keep an eye on the Gordon situation. If he is to miss time, Randy Foye makes a nice pick-and-plug add.
With Gordon healthy, however, Foye has little value.
Other injuries to follow are those which were suffered by Al Horford (questionable for Wednesday), Chris Bosh (doubtful this week), Carlos Boozer (listed questionable for Monday, for some reason) and Brandon Jennings (expected to return Wednesday night).
