According to a web site that tracks business selling prices, some Dayton small businesses are selling for less, but their revenue is a bit higher compared to last year.

BizBuySell.com released its second quarter 2010 data last week on what it says are the prices for which small businesses are selling in the Dayton area.

The data is based on only 48 Dayton-area businesses listed on the site. Those listings include those from business brokers, as well as “for sale by owner” listings that have been listed by the business owner without a broker.

According to the site:

• The current median asking price of businesses for sale in Dayton is $395,000.

• One year ago, at the end of 2009’s second quarter, the median asking price for businesses in Dayton was $450,000.

• The most recent quarter listed businesses in the Dayton area as having a median revenue of $588,706, up from $500,000 at this same time last year.

• The median cash flow — the money that comes out of the business over the course of a year — is $115,500, versus median cash flows of $93,000 last year.
