This Wednesday, January 26th, Aussies around the country will celebrate Australia Day and in the world of racing there is plenty to get excited about with five Listed events highlighting the 2011 Australia Day race programme.
Warwick Farm Racecourse in Sydney are set to host a top day’s racing headlined by the $100,000 Listed Australia Day Cup (2400m) where a 10-horse field will face off.
The 2011 Australia Day Cup is scheduled as Race 6 at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, the entries lead by the Chris Waller-trained Strike One coming off a second place finish in the Group 3 Summer Cup (2400m) at Randwick on Boxing Day and drawn ideally in barrier two.
In Victoria the Australia Day racing scene is top-class, a bumper eight-race programme at Caulfield Racecourse featuring four great stakes races to enjoy a bet on through Luxbet.
Caulfield races running on Wednesday include the $100,000 Listed John Dillon Stakes (1400m) and the $100,000 Listed Zeditave Stakes (1200m) for three-year-old colts and geldings where Peter Moody’s Caulfield Guineas winner Anacheeva resumes racing.
