ARCHAEOLOGISTS have exhumed 22 bodies from the site of a former chapel in Bromyard.

The Congregational Church, in Sherford Street, was last used for services in 1971 and is being preserved and redeveloped into flats and houses.

Border Archaeology, of Leominster, conducted the exhumation of bodies at the Grade II listed building over a period of three months. Permission was granted by the Ministry of Justice in London and
Herefordshire Council was informed of the work.
