Why it’s for sale The Bubniaks love their home, but they would like to trade up in the area, says Alena, 41, a Web editor. She and John, 50, an architect, have two children — Alexandra, 11, and Julian, 6.
“Surprisingly large,” is how Alena initially describes this seven-room Cape, which has four bedrooms, an updated kitchen and two recently renovated bathrooms. “When people come into the house, they are amazed by how big it actually is,” Alena says, noting the house offers ample storage space as well. Since moving in 13 years ago, the Bubniaks tackled the big three: replacing the roof, siding and windows. They also added a brick patio to the side of the house. Alena chats some more about the house, property (50-by-100 feet) and the village:
“We have a four season sunroom. It’s always the most popular room in the house when people come to visit. We love our yard — it’s great for the kids. It has a wood deck and is very private. We had it re-landscaped last spring…Our kids attend Stewart Manor elementary, a Blue Ribbon school…Stewart Manor is a great little village with many amenities, like our recently renovated village pool…You can walk to the stores on Covert Avenue, so you don’t have to drive everywhere, and to the Stewart Manor train station for a 40-minute ride into the city.”
