McPhee transfer-listed by Harriers

KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have moved to generate some much-needed cash by placing top-scorer Chris McPhee on the transfer list.
The Aggborough club need to find £120,000 by the end of this month to stave off ad-ministration. Selling one of their prize assets during the January transfer window would net some cash as well as
reducing the wage bill.
Midfielder McPhee, who has scored nine goals this term, is believed to be one of Harriers’ top earners and his contract is up in the summer.
He has already attracted interest this season with Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Crawley Town trying to sign him last month but the 27-year-old, based in Devon, rejected the move.
Versatile McPhee, who can also play in the centre of defence, is expected to be in the squad for tomorrow’s home clash against Barrow.
Manager Steve Burr said: “It’s obviously disappointing that we’ve had to take this step as you never want to lose your best players and Chris has done very well for us this season.
“The club has made the decision and we need to respect that.”
