Minot Area Chamber of Commerce’s Saturday Legislative Forum: 9 to 11 a.m., Minot Municipal Auditorium’s Room 201. The forum is open to the public and gives people a chance to ask legislators about pending legislation and discuss legislative issues.
Free weekly soup kitchen (breakfast): 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Congregational United Church of Christ basement, east door, 430 N. Broadway.
A chili benefit is planned for Deloris Gienger: 5 to 7 p.m. in the VFW Club in Anamoose. A freewill offering will be taken to help defray costs of cancer treatments. Proceeds will be matched by Thrivent.
Minot Area Team Wellness is sponsoring “Walk Minot” winter walks: The next walk will be Saturday at 10 a.m. through Roosevelt Park Zoo. Other walks will be: At Dakota Square Mall at 10 a.m. Feb. 10 (inside); and Minot State University Dome at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 (inside). Walkers do not need to register ahead of time and there is no fee to join. Each walk will last about an hour, will be informal, family-friendly and at an easy pace. Minot Area Team Wellness is a group concerned about the health and wellness of Minot’s citizens. Several organizations are part of the coalition.
