The driver thrown from his van and onto Interstate 35 near Proctor on Saturday night was listed in fair condition in Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center this morning.

Alonzo A. McGee, 21, of Duluth, was injured after he lost control of his northbound 1996 Plymouth Voyager around 11:45 p.m. The van went into the median and rolled, ejecting McGee onto I-35’s southbound lanes.

The interstate was icy at the time of the accident, the Minnesota State Patrol reports.
