He currently serves on the board of directors of the National Hispanic Medical Association. He has also served Pfizer as senior associate medical director. He previously held a variety of positions at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, including coordinator of office of research opportunity and assistant clinical professor of medical education.

Dr. Matos-Puente practices internal medicine in Northport. She has been affiliated with Huntington Hospital.

She earned her M.D. from the Stony Brook University Medical Center School of Medicine.
