Palermo have officially transfer-listed their striker Massimo Maccarone, according to the player’s agent, who is know hoping to arrange a January switch to another Serie A club.
The 31-year-old only joined Palermo last summer after Siena were relegated, but this season he has had to get used to being a substitute for the Rosanero.
Several clubs have been linked with a move for Maccarone due to his limited playing time this season, and the player’s agent has now claimed that Palermo no longer want him.
Paolo Fabbri stated: “Maccarone is officially on the market.Palermo called me yesterday to say so. From today onwards we will try and find a solution that suits the player and the club. However, Massimo would like to stay at this level.”
Juventus have already been credited with an interest due to their need for a new striker, however the arrival of Luca Toni and the possibility of signing Antonio Floro Flores means they won’t need Maccarone too. He is currently tied down to Palermo for two-and-a-half more years.
