Brad Smith, leader of the wild-cat formation for Gang Green, has be officially listed as questionable on the injury report for the AFC divisional matchup against the New England Patriots. By the NFL’s rule this means that the team believes that he has a 50 percent chance of playing in the game.
If he doesn’t play in today’s game it will be interesting to see who leads the wildcat for New York, if they even decide to run the formation without Smith. As for the returning duty’s, Antonio Cromartie will likely be the replacement after having a few successful returns this year.
ESPN’s Tim Kavanagh reported that Jets special teams coach Mike Westoff had hinted that he may decide to have Cromartie have extended return duties whether Smith is healthy or not.
If Smith doesn’t play it may hurt the Jets slightly, but it could make things interesting with somebody else heading the Wildcat.
