James Wade Moyer
ANDERSON COUNTY —
A man injured in a methamphetamine lab explosion near Easley was in good condition Sunday afternoon, said a spokeswoman from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga.
James Wade Moyer, 43, was transported to the Augusta hospital Saturday. He received injuries from the explosion at a utility building near 244 Colonial Drive in Easley around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to authorities.
The explosion occurred when materials normally used for making methamphetamine exploded, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. Two people in the Colonial Drive home at the time of the explosion were not hurt.
Moyer pleaded guilty to drug possession in Greenville and Pickens counties in 2009. He was charged with manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine in Pickens County in March.
Charges are pending for Moyer, but as of Sunday afternoon, he had not been charged in connection with the explosion, said Chad McBride, spokesman for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
Moyer lives on Boulder Court in Easley, authorities said.
