Best Actor nominee (Comedy), “Alice In Wonderland” and “The Tourist.”

World-famous actor, Johnny Depp, not only holds the most Golden Globe nominations on this list but is also the only contender on the 2011 nomination ballot who is slated for two nominations in the same category. This year, Depp’s portrayal of the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland” as well as his performance along side fellow nominee, Angelina Jolie, in “The Tourist” received critical acclaim and earned him two slots in the Best Actor category in a Comedy or Musical. Gaining such recognition for roles is nothing new for the movie star. His career is loaded with top awards and nominations, some of the most notable being for major roles in “Chocolat,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Finding Neverland,” and “Public Enemies.” Moreover, his career has grossed over $2.6 billion at U.S. box offices and over $6 billion worldwide for films that he has been featured in.

The 47-year-old actor is known for traveling the world. This, of course, is an easy feat when you own properties in Somerset, England, the South of France, and a 45-acre private island in the Bahamas. The Real Estalker reports that Depp’s England abode is a 150-year-old mansion in Somerset that he and long-time girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, purchased for $2.75 million back in 2007. His real estate portfolio also includes a
2.5-acre, West Hollywood estate. While there is no record of selling the 7,430 square foot home, Depp reportedly moved out of the castle-like house in 2004. His most recent real estate ventures include renting an amazing Hawaiian mansion during summer 2010, reportedly for $5,000 a night. Depp is also rumored (via TMZ) to have dropped $2 million on a penthouse loft at the newly renovated, Art Deco landmark,
    Eastern Columbia Lofts (pictured).
Depp’s Los Angeles penthouse features private decks, sweeping downtown views, and an elegant rooftop swimming pool. Depp will have an array of celeb neighbors including another ‘Best Actor’ nominee, Ryan Gosling. “The Notebook” stud has been nominated for Best Actor (Drama) for his role opposite nominee, Michelle Williams, in “Blue Valentine”.
