The Star City Senior Center in Velva will host a breakfast open to the public Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be served for $6 per person.
Honorary breakfast for Ashley (Overlie) and her husband, Daprie King: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Granville Community Center. Ashley is formerly of Granville. They are returning from active military duty overseas. Biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage and hashbrowns will be served. There will be a freewill offering and proceeds will go toward the Granville First Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
Knights of Columbus Council 9906 will have a Roast Turkey Dinner: 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., in St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot. The dinner will include turkey, all the trimmings and homemade desserts. Tickets are $8 for adults; $5 for children ages 6 to 12; and free for children ages 5 and younger. A family ticket may also be purchased for $25 for parents and their children ages 18 and younger. Proceeds will benefit community and Knights of Columbus council activities.

The Mouse River Players Community Theatre will present the romantic comedy, “Same Time Next Year”: 2 p.m., Arlene Saugstad Theater, 115-1st St. SE. The play is recommended for mature audiences only. Minot State University guest music recital: 3 p.m., Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. Violinist Benjamin Sung and pianist Jihye Chang will perform Franz Liszt’s “Grande Etudes de Paganini,” a set of six concert etudes based on six works by violinist Niccolo Paganini. The recital is free and open to the public.
Nondenominational Bible Talk: 4 p.m., Minot Municipal Auditorium, Room 204. The talks are open to the public.
