RSVP Melbourne’s new home: the Royal Exhibition Building
Melbourne’s events industry has been given a boost by organisers of RSVP Melbourne, who reaffirmed their commitment to the industry at a launch of the tradeshow’s new name and logo.
The new brand was theatrically revealed with a kabuki performance at the show’s new venue, the historic Royal Exhibition Building, conworld.net has reported.
Extensive research of the Melbourne industry was undertaken by Exhibition and Trade Fairs (ETF) and the results have helped shape the show’s new focus.
“It is a very exciting time for us to be able to address the Melbourne market’s needs and specifically respond to their requests for this show,” RSVP event manager Delwin Kriel said.
“The new brand marries the glitz and glamour with the more serious business-focused side of the show”.
Part of the strategic approach was moving the show to the World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building, who are reportedly “thrilled” to play host to the event.
Despite broad concerns about the future of events, ETF have asserted that the new brand reflects their commitment to the Melbourne events industry, conworld.net reported.
“Although we live in a world of e-commerce, we still need to connect face-to-face with like-minded peers,” ETF chief executive Jodie Richmond said.
“As the show organisers we need to offer much more than just a place to gather information; visitors want to experience, get involved first-hand and see products and services in action in a way that is just not possible any other day of the year”.
“Besides the fun aspects of the event, it is an important marketing and sales tool in many different ways,” EFT National Sales Manager Michael Begg added.
“I have experienced how it accelerates the sales process if you follow through appropriately”.
RSVP Melbourne will take place on 29-30 June 2011.
