A man has been remanded in custody after admitting behaving violently in Wigton.
Alistair David Pape, 28, pleaded guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to charges of affray and carrying a kitchen knife in a public place.
The charges arose from events in Waver Lane, Wigton, on October 23.
Pape, whose address was listed as Coach-house Cottage, Armathwaite, pleaded not guilty to stealing Christina Corrie’s mobile phone and assaulting her by beating her.
These charges are expected to be left lying on the court file, with no further action being taken, when Pape returns to court on February 24.
Pape was remanded in custody until then for the preparation of pre sentence reports.
