Revised plans submitted for new Heathrow hotel

Rokeby Developments and Scottish businessman and philanthropist, Lord Laidlaw have submitted revised plans for a new Heathrow hotel, in the village of Longford.

The revised plans for a hotel at 458-468 Bath Road envisage a smaller hotel of 342 rooms. The original concept was for a 498-room hotel.

The plot comprising 452 Bath Road will be redeveloped to provide four new three-bedroom houses. The Grade II Listed building ‘The Stables’ at 456 Bath Road will be retained as a single dwelling house. 470 Bath Road, a building of local historic interest will be converted into two dwellings. These buildings are currently vacant.

Rokeby Developments managing director Adrian Goodall said: “Following considerable consultation with the local planning officers we hope we have created an enhanced scheme which will sympathetically create new employment and public amenity not only for the attractive village of Longford but the surrounding area. And it will also address London’s critical shortage of hotels.”
