2nd Story Social Club is closed for New Year’s Eve.
The Sawyer Community Unity Group is sponsoring a family New Year’s Eve Community Event: 8 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday, Sawyer City Hall. The event will include games and musical entertainment for all ages and will not include alcohol. There will be free snacks and beverages, free party favors and noise makers and door prizes. People are asked to bring their favorite dessert to share. Children ages 16 and under who attend must have a parent present at all times. The Sawyer Community Unity Group and the North Dakota Department of Human Services are sponsoring the event.
First family-oriented New Year’s Eve Bash in Parshall: Begins at 8 p.m. Friday and continues until 6 a.m. Saturday, Parshall High School. The event is an alternative activity for observing a drug and alcohol-free new year. Doors will be locked at a designated time. Various programs and meetings will be held including goal setting and resistance skills. Alternative activities planned will include basketball, board games, a live band and disc jockey. City-wide, alcohol-free New Year’s Eve party, “Celebrate the Night 2011”: 8:30 p.m. Friday to 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Minot State University’s Swain Hall. The event is free and open to all. Children ages 13 and older are allowed to attend without their parents but parents must accompany anyone younger. Pizza and soda will be provided. There will be games and a Wii, a disc jockey and dance contest, a free throw contest, karaoke, a cakewalk, bingo and more. New Year’s party favors are provided. Sponsors are the North Dakota Prevention Resource and Media Center, the N.D. Department of Human Services and several campus organizations.
