Mr. Caughey is a professor in the medicine department of University of California-San Francisco. He also serves as chief pulmonary and critical care medicine at San Francisco Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center.

He earned his M.D. from Stanford and completed his sub-specialty training in medicine and pulmonology at Pennsylvania Hospital and UCSF. He also trained in lung research at UCSF’s Cardiovascular Research Institute and at Genentech.
