The Kisumu Molasses Plant is set to be listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange before the end of next year, Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said.
Mr Odinga urged Kenyans to participate in the listing and become shareholders in one of the most profitable companies in the region.
In the 1990s, Mr Odinga’s family, which owns the plant, mobilised funds from locals for its revival.
But the PM on Tuesday said those who contributed should not despair as they were working on modalities to allocate shares to them.
“Those who have contributed their money in the past towards the establishment of the plant should not think their funds have been lost. They will recover them through shares,” the Prime Minister said in Kisumu.

If those who invested money in this business in the 90’s haven’t got shares to show for it, why should I invest my money when it is listed in NSE?
