Favre Listed As Doubtful For Sunday’s Game

(NewsCore) – Brett Favre was not able to practice Friday and still has not passed his baseline neurological exam, the latest signs that he is unlikely to play Sunday night at Philadelphia after suffering a concussion last week, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

Minnesota Vikings interim head coach Leslie Frazier listed Favre as doubtful on the injury report Friday. Frazier said he would not use the “out” designation again after Favre was ruled out two days before last week’s game versus the Chicago Bears game because of an injury to his throwing arm but ended up playing.

Frazier said Friday he did not know if Favre had taken the neurological test yet but said if he did not pass the exam by Saturday, he would not play.

“There are other things besides just passing the test, so he wouldn’t be able to make it,” Frazier said.

Once a player gets past the neurological test there is a conditioning element that he also must complete in order to be eligible to play. Favre will travel with the team to Philadelphia, Frazier said.

If Favre is held out, rookie Joe Webb would get his first career start.
