The 2011 Greater Pittston Senior Center bowling league is now forming. The league will bowl at Modern Lanes each Friday beginning January 14 and continue for 12 more weeks. A meeting for all bowlers will be held on Friday, January 7 at 1 p.m. to set up the teams and discuss rules. To register for this league contact Connie Andrews at 655-5561.

2011 membership dues are now being taken. Requested donation is $5. Please be sure to update us on any changes you may have.

The center will be closed on Friday December 31.

Like to play Rummikub? Don’t know how to play, we can teach you. If you would like to join this group and enjoy a relaxing afternoon why not give us a call at 655-5561 to register. This group meets on Wednesday afternoons.

Tuesday and Thursday the pitch group meets at 1 p.m. If you like to play pitch why not join them for a fun afternoon of cards. Come early and enjoy a hot nutritious lunch at noon. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance.

Senior Citizens Centers sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming counties offer hot noon meals, Monday through Friday to people 60 years of age or older. Donations from participants are gratefully accepted and needed in order to expand this program.

Monday – Chicken w/ peppers onions (chicken strips), chunky tomato soup, rice and beans, tortilla, lemon sorbet, margarine, milk coffee.

Tuesday – Whole wheat spaghetti w/ meatballs, garden salad/dressing, Italian green beans, garlic bread, parmesan cheese, apple juice, chocolate brownie, margarine, milk and coffee,

Wednesday – New Year’s special lunch: Beef braciole, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, multi grain bread, holiday dessert, margarine, milk and coffee

Thursday – Baked pork chop, saut�ed red cabbage, bread stuffing, rye bread, pumpkin parfait, margarine, milk, coffee.

Friday – Holiday, Center – Closed

Need a great stock stuffer that useful? Streak free micro fiber magic cloths are available at the Pittston Senior Center. Cleans windows, chrome, tile mirrors, etc. with just warm water, never user chemicals again. Cost is $5 per cloth. This fundraiser will help us to continue to provide quality programs and events to 60 plus residents of Luzerne/Wyoming Counties.
