List of corruption charges against Suresh Kalmadi

There are many charges against embattled Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi for being corrupt and irresponsible some of which are listed below.

  • UK based firm AM cars and vans was given a very lucrative contract during the queen’s batons relay function in London

    on October 29, last year without a tender.

 

  • Australian firm SHAM was given a contract that gives them 20% commission on all the money brought in, including from public sector units.

 

  • A CAG report with PMO points that The Indian Olympic Association, Gets 5% of all the revenue generated, even if games make a loss.

 

  • Games were awarded to India in 2003 yet we started the CWG tasks late in 2007.

 

  • Shortfall of 550 crore to be returned to govt. as common wealth games revenue.

 

  • Advertisers have decided to stay away from the Commonwealth Games because multiple agencies are trying to sell sponsorship deals at different rates, creating total confusion in the market.
