4 Kuwaitis in top 50 ‘richest’ Arab list Khorafi Group occupies 6th place
KUWAIT CITY : Only four Kuwaitis were listed in the Top 50 Richest People in the Arab World list in 2010, reports Al-Dar daily.
The Khorafi Group occupied the sixth place with an estimated wealth of $8.2 billion, the Al-Shaya family came tenth with its $6.5 billion assets, Bu Khamseen group was listed at 25th position for its $4 billion wealth and the $3.4 billion wealth of Faisal Al-Aya’ar secured him 30th position in the list, compiled by the Arabian Business Magazine.
Saudis occupied most of the list, and Al-Waleed Bin Talal was ranked the richest person in the Arab World for the seventh consecutive year. He managed to increase his fortune by $1 billion despite the global financial crisis and his wealth is currently estimated to be around $20 billion.
Twenty-four new entrants, all from Saudi Arabia, made it to the list this year. Arabs with net assets worth one billion dollars or more make it to the list.
