The Cathedral Choir of First Lutheran Church of Minot will present a Christmas Cantata, “A Ceremony of Lessons and Carols”: At the 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. services in the church. The program will include eight Christmas lessons and many familiar carols, with narration by Dawn Werner and Dennis Helgeson.
Soup kitchen: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Seventh-day Adventist Church, 10-17th Ave. SW.
North Hill Baptist Church Christmas Open House: 2 to 4:30 p.m., in the church, 524-21st St. NW. There will be baked goods, cocoa, tea and coffee and a community Christmas carol sing-along. The Christmas story will be presented, along with general information about the church and its programs. The event is free and open to the public.
Rinat Mouzafarov’s Institute of Dance and Ballet Theatre presents “The Nutcracker”: 2 p.m., Minot State University’s Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. Tickets are $12 and are available at Video Magic, Home Sweet Home, Northwest Music and the Grand International Inn, all Minot. Donald Sayre will be the guest artist.
The Minot Heritage Singers will present their annual “Festival of Lessons and Carols”: 4 p.m., First Lutheran Church, Minot.
A live Nativity scene will be presented: 6 to 8 p.m., West Minot Church of God, 1105-16th St. NW. Coffee and hot chocolate will be served.
