Year-end reports are flooding the internet nowadays and Twitter is joining in the fray, releasing a list of the top 10 trending topics on their site.
The list is supposed to reflect subject matters and news that affected the world, particularly the site’s most avid users.
These Trends indicate the things that are most meaningful in our lives… The list of 2010 Twitter Trends reflects what’s happening in our world, demonstrates the power of turning any event or story into a shared experience, and underscores Twitter’s value as a real-time information network.
So, in Twitterverse, who came out on top? The little green robot, of course.
As hot as The Biebs was this year, Android has been hotter.
Updates for the OS were dropping in left and right and sales of Android phones and tablets have been steadily growing; even causing Android creator, Andy Rubin, to comment that over a hundred thousand Android phones are activated daily.
The topics listed by Twitter were mostly about sports, consumer electronics and world disasters. Justin Bieber was the only celebrity in the top 10.
Perhaps he can use that information to make himself feel better.
