Vikings Interim Coach Leslie Frazier Listed as Underdog Against the Redskins: The fading (3-7) Minnesota Vikings [+2½] will play their first game with interim coach Leslie Frazier on Sunday against the (5-5) Washington Redskins [-2½] from FedEx Field starting at 1 PM ET.

Last Sunday’s 31-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers, was the final straw for Brad Childress. He was fired the following day, and now the Vikings will have to try and make it work with Frazier for the remainder of the year. The former defensive coordinator was announced the new coach on Monday, after a 3-7 start under Childress.

“The challenge I have before me is to make sure that we’re going in the right direction and at the end of the year we’re not a 3-13 team,” Frazier said. “I don’t think there’s anybody on our team that can stand back and say, ‘You know what? I’ve done my part. I’m not the reason we’re 3-7.’ And if we have a guy like that, that guy has been a selfish individual.”

The Vikings will also be without right-guard Anthony Herrera for the rest of the year, as he was placed on the injured reserve with a torn ligament on his left knee. Herrera was injured during the Packers game last week, and said that he even found a way to play through four or five more plays after getting hurt. Patrick Brown will now fill in for Herrera.

As for the Washington Redskins, they are also suffering a big loss, with Clinton Portis also being placed on the injured reserve due to a torn muscle in the lower abdomen. This will be the second year in a row that Portis’ season comes to an early end.

But the Redskins have been dealing with injuries all year long, and coach Mike Shanahan has been trying to deal with it as best he can.
“Any time you’re down as many players as we’re down, if you had a normal practice you wouldn’t be able to function on game day,” Shanahan said.

This is a great NFL Betting Odds underdog bet for those of you looking for upsets in this week 12 of the 2010 NFL season.
