Our Neighbors Child (ONC) is the local volunteer organization coordinating holiday assistance (gifts of new toys and clothing) for children of families in financial crisis in Centreville, Chantilly and Western Fairfax. Assistance is made possible each year through the generous support from local churches, schools, businesses and individuals. Preparing for its 19th holiday season in the face of a difficult economy, ONC needs help more than ever from groups or individuals willing to “adopt” the special needs of local children. The number of requests for winter coats/jackets and warm clothing has increased from last year’s record numbers. Specific information (sizes, etc.) will be available before Thanksgiving. If you would like to help, please contact Denise McInerney, ONC Clothing Coordinator at oncdenise@aol.com. For other volunteer opportunities or to make a donation, visit www.ourneighborschild.org.
