The Leamington Seventh Day Adventist Church will host a free, two-hour disaster personal preparedness workshop presented by the Canadian Red Cross from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. ‘Disasters Can Strike Without Warning, Are You Prepared’ is designed to help individuals and families prepare themselves so they can be self-sufficient for the first 72 hours following a disaster. Essex County Associated Growers will present the 60th annual Bounty of the County convention and trade show at the complex from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Arts Centre, 72 Talbot St. W., Leamington will host its Christmas art show and sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Arts Centre is participating in Leamington’s Christmas open house tour.

Shooter’s Photography Club will meet from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Colasanti’s. (in the Hibiscus Room). The Sun Parlour Players Community Theatre presents the musical ‘Once on this Island’ in the Leamington United Church gymnasium. The performance is at 7 p.m. on Dec. 3, at 2 and 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 5. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, will be having a cabbage roll sale at 9 a.m. They are $18 a dozen. For further information call 326-5576.

Faith Reformed Church, 1115 Graham Sideroad, Kingsville will hold its annual Christmas bake sale, bazaar and luncheon from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will include Christmas cookie plates, ready-to-bake apple crisp and more.

December 4 – Knox Presbyterian Church, 58 Erie St. S., Leamington will hold a ‘Homemade Christmas Cookie and Squares’ sale beginning at 9 a.m.

Leamington Mennonite Home’s Auxiliary will host its ‘Homespun Christmas Sale’ beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Leamington United Mennonite Church, 78 Oak St. E. It will include baked goods, crafts and silent auction items.

Dec. 4, 5

Olinda-Ruthven United Church, 1907 Queen Blvd. Ruthven, will host a dinner/dessert theatre, ‘The Christmas Angel’, at 6 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Saturday’s tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children aged 6 to 12 and free for those five and under, it includes a lasagna dinner, dessert and the per; Sunday’s performance costs $10 for adults and $3 or children 6 to 12, and includes dessert. Dec. 5

The Essex County Male Choir will hold its Christmas concert at 3 p.m. at the Faith Mennonite Church, Sherk Street, Leamington.

The Lions Club of Kingsville will conduct its annual Christmas Bingo to benefit the Kingsville Food Bank, Leamington Hospital Foundation and the Lions Foundation of Canada for guide dogs for the blind. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., bingo starts at 2 p.m. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome. Guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Kingsville Food Bank.

The Leamington Mersea Historical Society will host ‘Christmas Past’ at the museum from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Soup and sandwiches $6.

Wheatley United Church will host its Christmas Concert – A Musical Celebration, featuring the Leamington District Secondary School band and choir, at 7 p.m.

The Rhine Danube Club, 130 Erie St. N., Leamington will host a ‘Christmas Market’ from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission, canned goods. Over 20 vendors will sell their wares, with Santa arriving at 3 p.m.

Dec. 11

The Leamington Library will host ‘Who’s on the Roof? I Hear Jingle Bells’, at 1 p.m. for those aged 4-8. Register at the library.

Dec. 12

The gospel group ‘Connection’ will host a Christmas concert, ‘Past and Present’, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 3 Fox St., Leamington.
