Listed firm in hotel deal with Accor Group

MANILA, Philippines – Publicly listed MJC Investments Corp. has tapped Accor Group to manage a luxury hotel it will construct in Manila.

MJC Investments said it executed a memorandum of understanding with Accor Group’s affiliate, AAPC Singapore Pte., for hotel consultancy and management services in relation to a 250-room 4-star hotel.

“[The hotel will be constructed] by MJC on a 1.4-hectare property within the PEZA-registered San Lazaro Tourism and Business Park in Sta. Cruz, Manila,” the company told the stock exchange.

The Accor Group, one of the world’s leading hotel managers, operates and manages 4,100 hotels globally. The Accor Group’s hotel brands include Sofitel, Mercure, Novotel, Pullman, Ibis and Etap.

“The MJC hotel design, layout, facilities and standards will be built in accordance with the Mercure Brand,” MJC Investments said.

It added, “the final terms of the hotel management agreement will be negotiated within 3 months from the execution of the memorandum.”
