Edzell Vineyards, which is in receivership owing $7.7 million to Westpac New Zealand, has been listed for sale.
Edzell, a 143-hectare property in the Awatere Valley, is owned by a group of South Island investors and supplies grapes to Pernod Ricard. It has 88ha of vines, mostly savignon blanc.
It was put into receivership on September 20 and the first report says the company owes $7,797,063, excluding interest, to Westpac New Zealand. It also owed about $13,000 in wages and PAYE.
The vineyard is being sold by tender through Bayleys Marlborough, closing on November 30.
Agent John Hoare said some inquiries had come from Australia.
