Consumer reports has come out with a list of companies that they say are either good or bad when it comes to customer service. They called their list the “Naughty And Nice” list. Here are just a few of the company’s listed by the report.

The Naughty List

You might be surprised if you looked at the entire list, but a few of the larger national chain corporations are listed. Macy’s made the bad list supposedly for charging shipping and handling based on purchase prices. Also on the list is, CompUSA, reportedly they charge and outrageous 25% restocking fee for anything returned that does not meet their criteria. Verizon made the same list because they doubled their early termination fees, upping them to an incredible $350. Best Buy made the bad list by only offering a 14 day grace period for returns and exchanges on computers, cameras, and computer monitors.

The Nice List

On their nice list is Zappos.com, this company allows free returns, and even includes a prepaid return label. Also on the list is Southwest Airlines, as they allow two large pieces of checked luggage. U.S. cellular can be found here for their practice of letting customers know in advance that they are about to exceed their monthly limit. Wal Mart makes the list this year because of their refund/return policy. They allow all returns under $25.00 no prob., Refunds of over $25.00 will receive a gift card for the purchase price, and as always exchanges are welcome. L.L. Bean gets to the top of our list because of their 100% satisfaction guarantee, you can return anything for any reason.

As always, you should accompany all returns and exchanges with the proper receipt. In most instances the store that you are returning the item to will require you to have valid identification a legitimate reason for the return.
